Why doesThe Way Home matter?

Young adults (under 30 years old) in America represent the first post-Christian generation in our history. For the first time since the Pilgrims landed in 1620, more young people today have been – or are being – raised in families without faith. And while this is unfortunately true in the United States, there are countries around the world where far, far fewer young people have had the chance to hear the Gospel in a way they could understand, relate and respond to.

Hence the need has never been greater for a book like The Way Home. Our prayer is that God will use this book to help bring the Gospel into the hands and hearts of those around the globe who have not yet heard the Good News. The book’s mission, then, could not be more relevant, more vital nor more important in our world right now.

About the Author

Stewart Sonneland, a Harvard graduate (1980), served in Young Life for over 40 years (22 years on staff, the balance as a volunteer). During that time, Stewart has spoken to, and walked alongside, thousands of young people. In that endeavor, he’s worked to help them navigate the difficult waters between adolescence and adulthood, helping them find a personal faith in — and relationship with — Jesus Christ.

After leaving full-time Young Life staff in 2006, Stewart founded and is now the CEO of Strategic Integrators, an IT firm headquartered in Spokane, Washington. Strategic provides systems integration for clients across the country which have ranged from Dartmouth University to the U.S. Department of Energy and even World Wrestling Entertainment.

Almost two years ago, Stewart launched, and now helps lead, a ministry for 18-25 year-olds called The Well. The Well has grown from what was essentially a small group of 8-10 young people to weekly meetings now numbering 40 to 50 or more.

He and his wife Patty of 43 years love to travel, especially if that means spending time with their four children and four grandchildren.
